Indofil Z78 is a broad-spectrum fungicide that is effective against a range of diseases caused by fungi such as Alternaria, Pestalotiopsis, Colletotrichum, and Phytophthora. It is suitable for use on a variety of crops, including apples, brinjals, chilies, citrus fruits, cumin, grapes, maize, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, turmeric, and wheat. The active ingredient in Indofil Z78 is zineb, which belongs to the group of compounds known as ethylene bisdithiocarbamates. It works by converting to an isothiocyanate when exposed to air, which inactivates the sulphahydral groups in the enzymes of fungi, disrupting their enzyme functioning. Indofil Z78 also provides zinc nutrition to the crops, resulting in healthy and dark green leaves, and can improve crop yield. It is compatible with most commonly used pesticides but is not compatible with lime sulphur or Bordeaux mixture or alkaline solutions. The recommended dosage is 200-250 gm in 100 liters of water, and it should be applied at 7-12 day intervals depending on the climatic conditions and disease severity.
