Indofil Token Insecticide is a systemic insecticide that is used to control rice brown plant hopper (BPH) and other insect pests in cotton and rice crops. It contains the active ingredient dinotefuran, which belongs to the neonicotinoid class of insecticides. It works by acting on the insect nervous system through contact and ingestion, causing paralysis and death within a few hours. Dinotefuran is highly systemic and translaminar in action, meaning it is absorbed by the plant and distributed throughout the tissue, providing long-lasting protection against insect pests. Token Insecticide has a quick knockdown effect and is effective against resistant strains of BPH. It is compatible with most commonly used pesticides but it is recommended to conduct a physical compatibility test before using it in combination with other products. The recommended dosage for cotton crops is 50-60 gm per acre for the control of whiteflies, aphids, and thrips, and for rice crops, it is 60-80 gm per acre for the control of BPH. It should be applied at the economic threshold level of 10-15 nymphs or adults per paddy hill in brown plant hopper-prone areas.
