MERGER FUNGICIDE
Technical Name: Tricyclazole 18 % + Mancozeb 62 % WP
Dosage: 2 gm/litre and 400 gm/acre
Description
Merger Fungicide is a combination of tricyclazole and mancozeb that is used to control blast, brown leaf spot, and grain discoloration diseases in crops. It is a contact and systemic fungicide that belongs to the triazole and ethylene bisdithiocarbamate (EBDC) groups of chemicals. Tricyclazole is a triazole fungicide that works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. Mancozeb, on the other hand, is a contact fungicide that acts by converting to an isothiocyanate when exposed to air, which inactivates the sulphahydral groups in the enzymes of fungi, disrupting their enzyme functioning. Together, these two active ingredients provide broad-spectrum control of a variety of fungal diseases. Merger Fungicide is applied at a rate of 2 gm per liter of water or 400 gm per acre. It is developed by Indofil and is marketed as a “one shot” or “rambaan” fungicide for the control of a wide range of fungal diseases.
